DTF Applicator Troubleshooting Guide

1. **Touch Screen Error Function Position Shift**

- Long press the reset button on the back of the screen and click on the cross to calibrate.

- If the problem persists, contact us for repair or replacement.

2. **Brush Does Not Rotate**

- The motor may not rotate due to an accumulation of hot melt powder at the bottom, causing excessive resistance between the brush and the sieve plate.

- Raise the height of the brush by adjusting the screws on both sides to reduce resistance.

- If the brush still does not rotate, check the wire connection to the dusting motor.

3. **Hot Melt Powder Not Dusted onto Film When Brush is Moving**

- Confirm that the size and type of hot melt powder are appropriate (80-200 microns). Use the hot melt powder provided by POLYTECH.

- If appropriate, check if the sieve plate is blocked and clean it if necessary.

4. **PET Film Can't Be Fixed onto the Belt Through the Oven**

- Check whether the blower inside the applicator is working.

- If the blower is working, check whether the belt joint affects the suction strength. Shown in the picture below on the right. If so, it will be soon back to normal after moving forward.

- If the film is not at the joint, shown in the picture below on the left, check for leaks in the plastic pipe connecting the blower and suction plate, and seal each junction with adhesive tape.

5. **Belt Shift**

- After prolonged use, the belt may loosen and shift to one side.

- For the earlier version (PC4 PC5 etc.), remove the strip cover on both sides of the oven. Adjust the belt tightness using the screw combination near the powder area, then tighten the belt and replace the cover.

- For the latest version (PM460 PM460S), adjust the screw at the end of the belt to shift it to the best position.

6.  **PET Film Wrinkle**

- Adjust the temperature and speed according to the environment, ensuring they are optimal.

7. **Applicator Can't Be Initiated**

- Check the power connection.

- Open the control box and check if the indicators light are on.

- If the indicator light is on but the screen is not working, replace the screen.

- If the indicator light is off and the power cables are well connected, the power box at the bottom of the control box may be damaged and needs replacement.

8. **Automatic Mode is Not Working or Abnormal**

- Check if anything is covering the sensor or if it is too dirty. Clean and adjust its position slightly. If it still does not work, contact Polytech or replace the sensor.

9. **Small Holes on the Surface of Both Colors and Adhesive Side**

- Reduce the drying temperature if the oven temperature is too high. If possible, cure at a lower temperature for a longer time.

10. **Excessive Powder Remains on the Film After Powder Removal**

- Check the file and design to ensure the edge is clean and smooth in high resolution.

- Ensure the printer and applicator are well grounded.

- Maintain humidity levels above 45%.

- Ensure the use of POLYTECH products, as quality varies by manufacturer.

11. **Design Details Lost**

- Ensure normal heat press conditions.

- Check if the pattern lines are too thin;  Thin lines reduce white ink and powder volume. Expand the thin lines or the white ink area to adhere enough hot melt powder.

12. **PET Film Sticks to Each Other After Curing**

    - Ensure reasonable curing conditions and that the cooling fans are turned on. If sticking persists, avoid winding.

13. **Oil-like Substances on the Back or Surface of Prints**

    - Ensure the curing temperature is high enough and the curing time is sufficient. If issues persist, pass the prints through the oven twice or contact Polytech for another model or an extra drier.

14. **Oil-like Drops from the Applicator to Prints During Curing**

    - Use a powerful air purifier, checking its power and filter status regularly. Use an external ventilation fan if possible and clean the oven daily by setting the drying temperature to 150°C and running the fan for 5 minutes. Wipe accumulated oil smoke regularly.

15. **Temperature Control Failure**

    - Check if the temperature control connection is correct. If other electrical systems work normally, consider replacing the temperature control voltage regulator.
