Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing is a transformative transfer method for applying high-quality, full-color designs onto a vast range of textiles like cotton and polyester, on both light and dark garments. The streamlined process begins by printing a design with white and CMYK inks onto a special PET film. While wet, a thermoplastic adhesive powder is applied, sticking only to the ink. The transfer is then heat-cured, fusing the ink and powder into a flexible film.
The final step uses a heat press to permanently bond this transfer to the fabric. Once the film is peeled away, it reveals a vibrant, durable, and soft print. A key advantage of DTF is that it requires no fabric pre-treatment, simplifying production compared to other methods. This versatility, combined with exceptional wash durability and a soft finish, makes DTF an ideal and efficient solution for custom apparel production, from small batches to larger orders.
