The foundation of the DTF solution is DTF printing, and the smoothness of the printing process determines whether high-quality bulk production can proceed smoothly. The most common issue affecting smooth printing is printhead nozzle loss. Therefore, we hope to share the common causes of printhead nozzle loss and their corresponding solutions with all readers of the POLYTECH website.
Normal Test Draw(above)Nozzle Loss(below)
Possible reasons:
- Wiper or ink pad is not clean
- Insufficient ink in ink tanks
- Ink tank cap is tight
- The ink tube clip is not opened
- Low amount of ink in the damper
- Ink damper damaged
- Ink pump damaged
Procedures to find root case and solve the nozzle lose issue:
1. Check the ink in the tank and ink tank cap.
2. Ensure the ink tube clip is open.
3. Clean the wiper ink pad.
4. Check if the ink amount in the damper is more than half capacity; if not, use a syringe to suck enough ink to the damper till its half capacity at least.
5. If the damper is damaged (ink can't be sucked in or is leaking), replace the damper and fill it with enough ink.
6. Clean the nozzle to check if it recovers.
7. If not, fill the ink pad with pure water (deionized water is best), immerse the nozzles on the print head surface in the water for 10 to 20 minutes, then clean the nozzles again.
